The Opportunity: Lead, Innovate and Silicon
This is a unique opportunity for a Director-level "Rising Star" looking for a meaningful leading role. You will take immediate ownership of the company’s silicon operations. You won't just follow a playbook—you will write it, specifically regarding the integration of AI and Machine Learning into our yield improvement and test workflows.
What you will be doing
As the Head of Test and Product Engineering at Altair Semiconductor, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of production test programs for advanced digital and RF ICs. You will manage and guide a team of Product and Test Engineers, while collaborating closely with silicon design teams and operations to ensure our devices meet the highest standards of quality and performance. In this leadership role, you will drive cross-functional alignment, optimize test strategies, and support high-volume manufacturing, playing a critical role in delivering reliable, cutting-edge semiconductor products to customers worldwide.
On a typical day
Responsibilities
- Management and Leadership: Manage and mentor two core pillars: the Product & Quality Team and the Product Test Team, fostering an environment of growth and innovation.
- Technical Ownership (Hands-on/Deep-dive): Lead from the front. You will personally oversee ATE program development and silicon characterization, ensuring your teams maintain technical excellence.
- AI Integration & Strategy: Integrate AI/ML usage into product engineering processes. You will leverage your engineering background to integrate these tools into daily tasks to optimize yield, reduce test time, and predict failures.
- Global Operations: Manage high-level relationships with our FAB and OSAT partners in Taiwan and Germany, including on-site visits (approx. 2–3 times a year) to ensure operational alignment.
- End-to-End Bridge: Act as the critical link between Design/DFT and mass production, ensuring "Design for Manufacturability" is more than just a buzzword.
Requirements
- Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Extensive experience in semiconductor testing and product engineering as a Senior Manager/Team Lead role into a "Head of" position.
- ATE Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with the Advantest 93K platform.
- RF/Mixed-Signal Expertise: Hands-on lab proficiency (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes) and a background in high-frequency RF test board design (PCB).
- AI & Data Fluency: A strong understanding of how AI tools can be applied to product engineering (yield analysis, outlier detection, etc.) and the vision to implement them.
