ALT1350: Lowest Power 5G Cellular+ Solution for Internet of Things

Lowest Power LTE-M/NB-IoT, Highly Integrated, Designed for the 5G Massive Internet of Things Market

ALT1350

The 3rd generation ALT1350 is a highly integrated wireless Low-Power Wide-Area (LPWA) System-on-Chip (SoC) designed to meet the evolving and growing needs of the cellular IoT market.

As the world’s first cellular IoT SoC to combine LTE-M/NB-IoT, unlicensed spectrum communications protocols, and satellite connectivity (NTN) in a single solution, the ALT1350 enables faster development, lower power consumption, smaller form factors, and reduced costs. This powerful combination optimizes existing use cases while supporting emerging trends in the IoT landscape.

The ALT1350 features ultra-low power consumption in various modes, including PSM and eDRX, significantly extending the battery life of connected devices. Its integrated AI engine enables edge processing, while indoor and outdoor positioning technologies — bundled with a sensor hub — collect sensor data while maintaining ultra-low power consumption and a high level of security.

The ALT1350 supports 3GPP release 15/16/17 LTE-M/NB-IoT standards. To ensure end-to-end security, it incorporates a multi-layered security architecture including hardware and software-based Secure Element, and includes an iSIM designed for PP-0117 to meet GSMA requirements.

The ALT1350 is designed for rapid integration across a variety of verticals, including smart meters, wearables, asset trackers, telematics trackers, connected health, and more.

Lowest Power LPWA SoC

The ALT1350 sets a new standard in ultra-low power consumption, significantly extending battery life and reducing operational concerns for IoT service providers. With its advanced architecture, the ALT1350 can deliver up to 4 times the battery life of previous generations for applications such as asset trackers, connected health devices, wearables, and other battery-operated IoT solutions.

5G Massive IoT and Multi-Protocol Network

The ALT1350 integrates a 5G baseband processor as well as sub-GHz and 2.4GHz transceivers to enable hybrid connectivity for smart meters, smart cities, trackers, and other devices. This multi-protocol approach enhances coverage, reduces costs, and further decreases power consumption by leveraging IEEE 802.15.4-based protocols such as Wi-Sun, U-Bus Air, wM-Bus, and additional standard or proprietary point-to-point mesh technologies.

Sensor Hub & Positioning Technologies

The ALT1350 incorporates a sensor hub that collects data from sensors while maintaining ultra-low power consumption. It features indoor and outdoor positioning technologies using cellular tower information and Wi-Fi-based positioning. These capabilities are seamlessly integrated to provide power-optimized concurrent LTE and GNSS for tracking applications within a single chip.
